The on-line catalogue includes a number of databases which try to preserve the complex structure of the old card catalogue. The on-line cataloguing has begun in 1998, and now has reached around 250,000 entries.

RAL

RAL is the database that includes the bibliographical records of contemporary publications (books, serials, exhibition catalogues, audiovisual materials, etc.). It continues the old book and serials catalogues, and now it reaches approximately 200,000 entries of publications printed mostly after 1996.

ORB

ORB database is dedicated to special collections; the “Old Romanian Books” database is already completed. A special attention was given to the description of each copy, stressing upon the difference between items under the same call number, but with different donors or former owners. Also the ex-libris items and the various annotations are specified.

BIB

BIB is the database for Contemporary Romanian Bibliography, 1919-1952, which ends the series of the Retrospective Romanian Book Bibliography.

IMG

Under the generic title of IMG are gathered image and text databases, among which a special database is dedicated solely to Mihai Eminescu’s manuscripts.
